Its Precision Sonic Transport concept keeps maximum fidelity along the entire path the signal takes through the loudspeaker, so the listener is fully immersed in the performance.

Outstanding fidelity, dynamics and sheer power make the DSP8000 XE equally impressive in a listening room and a home cinema. A separate head unit isolates the new tweeter and midrange driver from the main enclosure, while the curved, ellipse-based cabinet avoids parallel internal surfaces. Walls made from layered birch plywood, aluminium and resin, combined with substantial internal bracing, create an exceptionally inert cabinet.

Key Features

Fully active design: Class AB amplifiers for tweeter and midrange, six bridged pairs of Class D amplifiers for the bass

Frequency response in room 18 Hz – 40 kHz (±3 dB), peak SPL 120 dB at 1 m

25 mm beryllium dome tweeter with silver voice coil and custom steel waveguide

Six 200 mm long-throw bass drivers with up to 24 mm excursion

Digital inputs including USB-C up to 384 kHz, Bluetooth via the supplied Meridian B-Link and an analogue input module

MQA Renderer for the final unfold of MQA files

Meridian technologies: Bespoke Signal Mapping, E3 Bass, FFA, Q-Sync, Pro-Active Bass, True Time, True Link and Free-Q

Specifications (per loudspeaker)

Inputs: Meridian SpeakerLink (RJ45), coaxial digital (RCA, up to 192 kHz / 24-bit), optical (Toslink, up to 96 kHz / 24-bit), USB-C (up to 384 kHz / 24-bit), Bluetooth via Meridian B-Link, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA on the IA21 analogue input module

Output: 1 x Meridian SpeakerLink (RJ45)

Tweeter and midrange amplifiers: Class AB, more than 150 W into 4 ohms each, THD + noise at 1 kHz below 0.005 %, bandwidth above 100 kHz

Bass amplifiers: six bridged pairs of Class D, each more than 240 W into 4 ohms, THD + noise at 1 kHz below 0.008 %

Midrange driver: 160 mm with non-conductive voice-coil former and anti-resonance clamp ring

Bass drivers: 6 x 200 mm polypropylene long-throw with anti-resonance clamp rings

Dimensions: height 1350 mm (with feet), width 400 mm tapering to 158 mm, depth 528 mm tapering to 210 mm

Weight: 110.5 kg

Power consumption: 1250 W max

Finish: gloss black
