Each speaker contains a complete matched audio system – DSP, DACs and three amplifiers – giving outstanding overall quality, lower power consumption and bass you would expect from a passive loudspeaker several times its size.

Two DSP devices provide the processing power to render all audio, including MQA Core streams, at 176.4 or 192 kHz whatever the incoming sample rate. The result is more resolution, detail and clarity from both music and movie soundtracks. A Meridian-designed beryllium dome tweeter in a short horn and mechanical clamp rings on the bass drivers keep the sound clean, fast and free from colouration. Each loudspeaker is built by hand in the UK.

Key Features

Dual DSP with processing at 176.4/192 kHz, full MQA support

Enhanced Bass Alignment (EBA) for tighter bass and an open, transparent soundstage

25 mm beryllium dome tweeter with silver voice coil

3 x 75 W amplification built into each loudspeaker

Frequency response in room 35 Hz – over 32 kHz, peak SPL 116 dB at 1 m

Eight-character display that can be blanked during use

Meridian technologies: Bespoke Signal Mapping, E3 Bass, FFA, Q-Sync, Pro-Active Bass, Pro-Active Thermal, True Time, True Link and Free-Q

Specifications (per loudspeaker)

Inputs / outputs: Meridian SpeakerLink (RJ45) and RCA coaxial digital, 32–96 kHz, up to 24-bit

Amplification: 3 x 75 W (225 W); distortion typically below 0.02 %

Drivers: 160 mm polypropylene long-throw low-bass, 160 mm polypropylene long-throw mid/bass, 25 mm beryllium dome tweeter

Noise: below 15 dB SPL

Dimensions: height 903 mm (without feet), width 178 mm tapering to 300 mm, depth 220 mm tapering to 360 mm

Weight: 27 kg

Power consumption: 20 W standby, 300 W max

Finish: gloss black
