Featuring the same ultra-elegant full aluminium casework, it adds a fully balanced tube output to a high-end top-loading fully Red Book CD mechanism. It is the first CD player in our RS line to use an integrated DAC and we use nothing less than the stellar Texas Instruments PCM1796 DAC in fully differential configuration to feed our balanced tube output.

The SUOS DM‑3381 Red Book drive is built around a robust, low-vibration disc mechanism that dramatically reduces jitter and extraneous noise. Housed in a solid, vibration-damped chassis, the DM‑3381 is engineered for long-term stability and reliability. Every component is selected for its audio-grade performance, ensuring consistently clean, precise playback.

Easily control the CD player with the buttons on the front, or with the supplied full aluminium remote control and the big RS2 LCD display, which shows you all relevant information including artist and song title, if the CD features CD-text.

Tubes have been an integral part of our RS-line ever since its original introduction. At the heart of the CD Box RS2 Tube is a fully balanced tube output stage, featuring 2 premium E88CC tubes. This sophisticated tube buffer enriches the audio signal with the warmth, fluidity, and natural harmonic structure that only real vacuum tubes can provide. The result is a listening experience that feels organic, musical, and emotionally engaging — a welcome contrast to the often sterile character of typical digital playback.

Features

NEW SUOS DM-3381 Red Book CD-DA drive

NEW BlueTiger™ CD-88 Servosystem

NEW Fully balanced tube (2x E88CC) output stage

NEW High-End Texas Instruments PCM1796 DAC

NEW Fully Balanced XLR output

Top-loading CD drive with aluminium cover plate

Magnetic clamp

Optical & coaxial digital outputs

LCD screen displays time, tracks, text (if available)

Gravity design with central mass point

Aluminium IR remote included

Available in silver or black

Made in Europe

Technical Specifications

Supports: Red Book CD-DA

Tubes: 2x E88CC

Digital outputs (S/PDIF): 1 x optical (TOSlink®), 1 x coaxial (RCA socket)

Analog outputs: 1x RCA, 1 x balanced XLR

Digital to Analog converter: PCM1796

Outboard power supply: 20V/3000mA DC; 100 - 240V, 50/60Hz

Power consumption: 20 W max.; <0.5W in standby

Replacement battery remote control: 1 x CR2032 / 3V or 1 x CR2025 / 3V

Dimensions W x H x D (D with sockets): 206 x 84 x 200 (210)mm

Weight: 3.200g without power supply
