Only with MC cartridges you can utilize the full technical benefits of a balanced connection in dynamic, sound stage and especially in the quietness of the sound.

Unfortunately the production of MC cartridges is way more intensive and they are more costly compared to MM cartridges. Our goal is always to make true HiFi stereo affordable. The result was the Pick It MC2.

The very light stylus/coil assembly of a moving coil cartridge allows for a much wider frequency and improved transient response. This means a more detailed reproduction and resolution of low level signals.

The lower source impedance means less sensitivity to outer influences. This means less hum. However, due to the lower output (generally speaking around 20dB lower) a high quality phono stage is recommended.

Fresh and lively sound reproduction

This all new Pro-Ject Pick it MC2 cartridge uses an elliptical diamond mounted on alu cantilever which brings you a richer tone and more subtle details compared to the Pick it MC1.

With an MC cartridge you benefit from enhanced audio clarity, stereo imaging, and transparency compared to MM cartridges.

The enclosure is made of resonance optimized ABS which results in a total weight of around 5 grams. With its medium compliance it performs perfect with most entry to mid-level turntables.

Searching the best Japanese components in the most critical parts as diamond and cantilever, we have been able to source an excellent affordable motor which we build in our own designed and manufactured resonance free cabinet. After 1,5 years of fine-tuning and many listening and test phases, we are proud to offer now this great affordable MC cartridge.

Features

Entry level Pick it MC cartridge

Pro-Ject Audio cartridge design

Elliptical diamond mounted on alu cantilever

More detailed sound reproduction

Improved frequency response

Neodymium N40H magnet

Square generator coil

6N OFC pure copper windings

Musical all-purpose cartridge

Genre allrounder

1/2 inch mounting standard

Threaded holes for simple mouting without nuts

Technical Specifications

Cartridge principle: MC (Moving-Coil)

Output voltage at 1 kHz: 0,4 mV (3,54 cm/sec)

Channel separation at 1 kHz: >27 dB

Tracking ability at 315Hz: 70 μm

Dynamic compliance: 15 μm/mN

Frequency response: 20 - 20 000 Hz +/- 1dB

Stylus type: Elliptical on alu cantilever

Tracking force, range: 1,7 - 2,1 g (mN)

Tracking force, recommended: 1,9 g (mN)

Height stylus tip to top mounting surface: 17 mm

Tracking angle: 22°

Recommended load resistance: 50-200 Ω

Cartridge weight: 5 g
