Their cartridge series combines the simplicity of an MM cartridge with the musicality and tonal accuracy of MC cartridges. To protect your investment, all cartridges have a replaceable stylus.

All Nagaoka cartridges use Nagaoka MI technology® (Moving Iron). This brings the high level of detail associated with more expensive Moving Coil (MC) systems while keeping the convenience of a replaceable stylus and the high output of Moving Magnet (MM) designs. The cartridge has a powerful samarium-cobalt magnet and high coil output, so a very light steel-nickel end piece can be used instead of the much heavier permanent magnet of conventional designs. This reduces the moving mass and lets the cantilever track the groove more faithfully. The MI system is fully compatible with MM phono preamplifiers. The result is high clarity and excellent tracking combined with the musicality and tonal accuracy of MC cartridges.

Nagaoka cartridges use only top-quality materials with special treatment: a carefully designed magnetic circuit, a precisely made cantilever and stylus, all 100 % developed and made in Japan by Nagaoka. The result is a superb sound so far typical only of much more expensive MM and MC cartridges.

The cartridge is made of special materials that reduce unwanted vibration to a minimum:

Nagaoka MI technology® with precise and fast response to the groove wall

Superfine polished elliptical diamond stylus

Powerful samarium-cobalt magnet

Lightweight aluminium-alloy cantilever for high fidelity

Square body for easy alignment in the headshell

Very high purity OFC copper coils

Carbon fibre reinforced cartridge body

Anti-ferromagnetic permalloy shield (protects against electromagnetic interference)

Easy stylus replacement

Specifications:

Type: Moving Magnet (MM) compatible

Principle: Nagaoka MI technology® (Moving Iron)

Mounting: 1/2"

Stylus: superfine polished elliptical diamond (0.4 x 0.7 mil)

Magnet: samarium-cobalt

Output voltage: 5 mV (1 kHz, 5 cm/s)

Frequency range: 20 Hz – 20 kHz

Channel balance (1 kHz): < 1.5 dB

Channel separation (1 kHz): > 23 dB

Load impedance: 47 kΩ

Load capacitance: 100 pF

Dynamic compliance: 6 x 10⁻⁶ cm/dyn

Static compliance: 18 x 10⁻⁶ cm/dyn

Cartridge weight: 6.5 g

Recommended tracking force: 1.5 – 2.0 g

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0796/1663/9311/files/tesla-headshell-black-with-nagaoka-mp-110-cartridge-1.jpg?v=1791892273
