DUAL CS 800 Manual Turntable with Ortofon 2M Red

The DUAL CS 800 from St. Georgen in the Black Forest took its engineers four years to develop. It is a completely redesigned turntable that lays the foundations for a new Dual series.

The goal was to develop a high-end manual turntable based on advanced technical functionality and quality materials with exceptional sound quality, while remaining affordable.

The turntable combines a heavy base chassis with a floating sub-chassis in a completely new, modern design. Despite its slim design, the base chassis has the mass needed to isolate unwanted noise and vibration from the outside, guaranteeing perfect tracking and playback in all circumstances. The aluminium sub-chassis "floats" on four special parabolic springs and is decoupled from the rest, further minimising external interference. The turntable stands on three specially damped aluminium feet and features a completely new tonearm with high-quality Dual E internal wiring and an improved High Precision Surface bearing, which allows very precise groove tracking and setting of tracking force and antiskating. The motor is new too: a precise electronically controlled DC motor is operated by a newly developed touch switch, with the selected speed indicated by an LED.
