eARC for existing sound systems

Many AV receivers do not support eARC or HDMI 2.1. With the AX110 you connect your new consoles and players directly to the TV and keep using your receiver for sound. The AX110 converts the eARC audio into a normal HDMI signal (black picture plus audio), so the receiver does not need to support the video format – a standard HDMI input is enough. To pass PCM 5.1 or 7.1 sound, the TV usually needs to be set to audio passthrough.

Control with your TV remote

If your sound system supports HDMI-CEC on its HDMI inputs – as most AV receivers from the last 10 years do – you can adjust the volume and mute with the TV remote. Automatic switching on and off of the receiver together with the TV works with most device combinations.

Good to know

• The sound system needs a normal HDMI input. The HDMI ARC port of a soundbar is an output and cannot be used, so the AX110 is not suitable for Sonos or Bose soundbars.
• Some TVs do not pass DTS / DTS-HD via eARC. In that case set your Blu-ray player or Xbox to output PCM multichannel instead of DTS bitstream.
• Power via USB (5 V, 350 mA) from a USB port or USB power adapter (adapter not included).
