MEZE AUDIO EMPYREAN II Open-Back Planar Magnetic Headphones

The Meze Audio EMPYREAN II is a flagship open-back planar magnetic headphone created together with Rinaro Isodynamics. Compared with the original Empyrean, it reproduces finer detail with a cleaner, more neutral and more accurate sound, while keeping the relaxed, easy-to-listen-to character that made the first generation famous.

Meze spent months testing different tuning methods to improve resolution and detail retrieval without losing musicality. The result is a cleaner and more precise presentation with more clarity, depth and fun.

Rinaro MZ3 Isodynamic® Hybrid Array driver

The large MZ3 driver uses a 0.16 g Isoplanar® diaphragm with 4,650 mm² of active area and neodymium magnets arranged into a Hybrid Array on both sides. A switchback coil in the upper part reproduces low frequencies, while a spiral coil directly above the ear canal handles mids and highs with no time delay, for precise imaging. Distortion stays below 0.05% and the upper frequency limit reaches 110 kHz. The Isomagnetic® coupling system holds the ear pads magnetically while redirecting the magnetic field back into the driver for higher efficiency.

Two pairs of ear pads included

You can adjust the sound to your taste: the Duo ear pads combine premium leather and Alcantara® for well-supported bass with refined spatiality, while the Angled Alcantara ear pads create more space around the ear for an airier, more detailed sound with cleaner bass and more midrange presence.

Design and comfort

The CNC-milled frame has a matte black finish with silver accents and a redesigned grille inspired by Art Deco patterns. The purpose-built structure minimises weight and pressure and adapts to the shape of your head for hours of comfortable listening.
