The Meze Audio 105 AER is an open-back over-ear headphone with a 50 mm dynamic driver, made for listeners who want a closer connection to their music. It is the lightest open-back model Meze has made so far.

Lush, spacious sound

The 105 AER has a warm, full-bodied and refined sound with a clear sense of space and good separation between instruments. A gentle lift in the bass and sub-bass gives music a deeper foundation without masking the midrange. With 42 Ω impedance and 112 dB/mW sensitivity, it plays well from a phone or portable DAC as well as from a desktop headphone amplifier.

50 mm dynamic driver

The driver is based on Meze's proven 50 mm platform. The W-shaped dome is made of a carbon fibre-reinforced cellulose composite that reproduces treble with detail and clarity while keeping resonances low. Around the dome sits an ultra-thin PEEK torus with grooves at a 45.5° angle for higher stiffness and better damping, and a copper-zinc alloy stabiliser absorbs vibrations to further reduce distortion.

Comfort for all-day listening

The headphone combines PVD-coated cast zinc alloy hardware, a spring steel headband, PC-ABS ear cups and a soft PU leather headband. The self-adjusting headband spreads the weight evenly on any head size, and the deep velour ear pads are soft and breathable, so they stay comfortable during long sessions.

Built to last

Like other Meze headphones, the 105 AER can be fully taken apart and serviced, so worn parts can be replaced and the headphone can be used for many years.
