ALUElektron is an alloy of 90 % magnesium and 10 % aluminium with additions of zinc and manganese, used in engineering as a material for precision die casting.

Black anodised aluminium finish with the standard half-inch mounting (12.7 mm spacing), including high-quality OFC lead wires for connecting the cartridge.

Nagaoka makes MM cartridges exclusively (MM and MI motors) and has brought them to technological perfection with 100 % quality control of every component. Their cartridge series combines the simplicity of an MM cartridge with the musicality and tonal accuracy of MC cartridges. To protect your investment, all cartridges have a replaceable stylus.

All Nagaoka cartridges use Nagaoka MI technology® (Moving Iron). This brings the high level of detail associated with more expensive Moving Coil (MC) systems while keeping the convenience of a replaceable stylus and the high output of Moving Magnet (MM) designs. The cartridge has a powerful samarium-cobalt magnet and high coil output, so a very light steel-nickel end piece can be used instead of the much heavier permanent magnet of conventional designs. This reduces the moving mass and lets the cantilever track the groove more faithfully. The MI system is fully compatible with MM phono preamplifiers. The result is high clarity and excellent tracking combined with the musicality and tonal accuracy of MC cartridges.

Nagaoka cartridges use only top-quality materials with special treatment: a carefully designed magnetic circuit, a precisely made cantilever and stylus, all 100 % developed and made in Japan by Nagaoka. The result is a superb sound so far typical only of much more expensive MM and MC cartridges.
